أَنطونُ طفلٌ لِشُكرِ اللَهِ باتَ لَهُ

أَنطونُ طفلٌ لِشُكرِ اللَهِ باتَ لَهُ

مناحةٌ في بَني الخوري وَتَعديدُ

مناحةٌ في بَني الخوري وَتَعديدُ

For Antoun, a child of Shukr Allah, there arose

Mourning and lamentation among the sons of al-Khuri.

فَقالَ مِن مَنطِقِ التاريخِ صادِقُهُ

فَقالَ مِن مَنطِقِ التاريخِ صادِقُهُ

لِمثل هَذا نَعيمُ اللَهِ مَوعودُ

لِمثل هَذا نَعيمُ اللَهِ مَوعودُ

Then its truthful voice spoke in the language of the chronogram:

For one such as this, God's bliss is promised.
