وَمُصّورٍand one portrayed بِالشَمسِby the sun وَهوَand he is نَظيرُهاher equal
وَمُصّورٍ بِالشَمسِ وَهوَ نَظيرُها
أَهدَتهُshe gave him صُورَتهاher image بِرَسمِin depicting مِثالِهْhis likeness
أَهدَتهُ صُورَتها بِرَسمِ مِثالِهْ
And one portrayed by the sun, himself her equal—
And a painter with the sun though it's his peer
She gave him her image in rendering his likeness.
She gifted him her image with the shape of his likeness
وَلَوand if أَنَّthat شَمساًa sun صُوِّرتwere portrayed بِضيائِهاby its radiance
وَلَو أَنَّ شَمساً صُوِّرت بِضيائِها
ماnot صَوّروهُthey portrayed him بِغَيرِby other than نُورِthe light of جَمالِهْhis beauty
ما صَوّروهُ بِغَيرِ نُورِ جَمالِهْ
And if a sun were portrayed by its radiance,
And if that a sun was painted with its glow
They would portray him only by the light of his beauty.
None would paint him but with the light of his beauty
