A resting place for Mannoun, who has settled here, bringing grief;
A refuge for the grieving, struck with torment,
Her death has filled Habib Awda with sorrow.
The beloved of return, her fate is sorrow,

A bride of beauty, unveiled upon the cradle of decay;
A bride of beauty, laid bare on the bed of ruin,
And her tears from the eyelids spangled her.
Her tears streaming down her cheeks.

She is the angel, the angel of purity; she has departed
She is an angel, an angel of purity, departed,
From us, and her return was to the abode of the Throne.
To the throne of God was her return,

Then the moment in history when she ascended proclaimed:
Thus said a moment in history when she rose:
Indeed, the angels have their pasture in Paradise.
Indeed for angels is Paradise their pasture.
