A noble woman of the noble Sabbagh family,

like the full moon, was concealed by a dark tomb.

She left her husband, Ibrahim Boueiz,

flowing tears and grief that blazes,

and sons who, after parting from her, weep at

death's injustice—and fate shows no mercy.

And indeed, she rests in this tomb, while her soul

enjoys bliss among the angels on high.

So I wrote on the tablet that records the date, inscribing:

“Beside God's throne, Maryam has come to dwell.”
