بَيتٌ لِجاوَرْجِيوسْ أَنشَا بَنايَتَهُ
أَغابِيُوسْAgapios حَبْرُناour prelate المَشهورrenowned فيamong البَشَرِhumankind
أَغابِيُوسْ حَبْرُنا المَشهور في البَشَرِ
A house for Georgios, its edifice erected
A verse by Jawarjiyus, who built his temple
By Agapios, our prelate, renowned among humankind.

فَقِفْso stand بِهِwithin it خاشعَdowncast الأَبصارِthe eyes مُبتَهِلاًsupplicating
فَقِفْ بِهِ خاشعَ الأَبصارِ مُبتَهِلاً
وَلُذand seek refuge بِساكنِهِwith its dweller فيat مَطلَعِthe onset of السَّحَرِthe predawn hour
وَلُذ بِساكنِهِ في مَطلَعِ السَّحَرِ
So stand within it, eyes downcast, in supplication,
Stand before it with downcast eyes pleading
And seek refuge with its dweller at the onset of the predawn hour.
And find peace in its dweller at dawn’s first light
وَقُلْand say بِبَيتكَin your house لاذَsought refuge العَبدُthe servant مُنكَسِراًbroken in spirit
وَقُلْ بِبَيتكَ لاذَ العَبدُ مُنكَسِراً
يَبغيhe seeks رِضىapproval خالِقٍa Creator لِلذَنبِof sin مُغتَفرِforgiving
يَبغي رِضى خالِقٍ لِلذَنبِ مُغتَفرِ
And say: “In your house the servant has sought refuge, broken in spirit,
Say in your temple the servant finds refuge
Seeking the approval of a Creator who forgives sin.
Seeking the forgiveness of his Creator for sins
فَاِنظرso look لِذُلِّupon the humility of ضراعاتٍsupplications نُؤرِّخُهاwe record their date
فَاِنظر لِذُلِّ ضراعاتٍ نُؤرِّخُها
وَاِشفَعand intercede لَدَيهِwith Him بِناfor us ياO لابسَwearer of الظَفَرِvictory
وَاِشفَع لَدَيهِ بِنا يا لابسَ الظَفَرِ
So look upon the humble supplications whose date we record,
Look upon this humiliation we record
And intercede with Him for us, O you clothed in victory.”
And intercede for us before Him, O victorious one
