رَمسٌ بِهِ مِن آلِ حَجَّةَ راحلٌ

رَمسٌ بِهِ مِن آلِ حَجَّةَ راحلٌ

زاهي الشَبيبةِ كَالحُسامِ المُرهَفِ

زاهي الشَبيبةِ كَالحُسامِ المُرهَفِ

A grave wherein lies one departed of the Hajja family,

A drawing of him from the family of Hajja, a rider,

radiant in youth, like a finely honed sword.

Youthful like a sharpened sword,

وَلَّى بِلا ثَمَرٍ فَلَم يُترَك سِوى

وَلَّى بِلا ثَمَرٍ فَلَم يُترَك سِوى

دَمعَ الحَزينِ وَحَسرَةَ المُتلَهِّفِ

دَمعَ الحَزينِ وَحَسرَةَ المُتلَهِّفِ

He departed without fruit, and nothing was left but

Turned without fruit, so nothing was left

the mourner's tears and the yearning one's anguish.

Except the tear of the sorrowful and the sigh of the yearner.

قَد كانَ مَقصودَ الجَميلِ وَلَم يَزَل

قَد كانَ مَقصودَ الجَميلِ وَلَم يَزَل

لِحَوائجِ القَصّادِ أَسرَعَ مُسعِفِ

لِحَوائجِ القَصّادِ أَسرَعَ مُسعِفِ

He was sought out for kindness, and never ceased to be

He was always the aim of the beautiful, and never ceased to be

the swiftest helper for the needs of those who sought him.

The quickest to aid the needs of the determined.

وَلَقَد وَفَاهُ اللَّهُ خَيرَ ثَوابِهِ

وَلَقَد وَفَاهُ اللَّهُ خَيرَ ثَوابِهِ

إِذ كانَ بَينَ الناسِ أَصدَقَ مَن يَفِي

إِذ كانَ بَينَ الناسِ أَصدَقَ مَن يَفِي

And God indeed granted him His finest reward,

And God has fulfilled for him the best of His rewards

for among people he was the truest of those who keep faith.

When he was among people the most truthful of the loyal.

فَأَجابَ تاريخَ المَراحمِ شاهِداً

فَأَجابَ تاريخَ المَراحمِ شاهِداً

قَد فازَ لُطفَ اللَّهِ بِاللُّطفِ الخَفِي

قَد فازَ لُطفَ اللَّهِ بِاللُّطفِ الخَفِي

So the chronogram of mercies answered, bearing witness:

So he answered the date of mercy as a witness

Lutf Allah has triumphed through hidden grace.

Having won the subtle kindness of God through his own kindness.
