رَمسٌ بِهِ مِن آلِ طُنبةَ راحِلٌ

رَمسٌ بِهِ مِن آلِ طُنبةَ راحِلٌ

بَلُّوا ثَراهُ بِالدُموعِ الذُرَّفِ

شَهمٌ تَلقَّى الحادِثاتِ بِمُهجةٍ

شَهمٌ تَلقَّى الحادِثاتِ بِمُهجةٍ

صَبَرَت عَلى طُولِ البَلاءِ المُدنفِ

صَبَرَت عَلى طُولِ البَلاءِ المُدنفِ

A gallant man, he faced calamities with a heart

Courageous, he met misfortunes with strength,

That endured long, debilitating affliction.

He endured the prolonged affliction with patience,

حَتّى قَضى وَمَضى فَحَلَّ بِمَرتَعٍ

حَتّى قَضى وَمَضى فَحَلَّ بِمَرتَعٍ

يَغشى العُيونَ بِهِ جَمالُ المَوقِفِ

يَغشى العُيونَ بِهِ جَمالُ المَوقِفِ

Until he died and departed, then settled in a pasture

Until he passed away and departed to a meadow

Where the beauty of the scene envelops the eyes.

That delights the eyes with the beauty of its scene.

وَهُناكَ بِالتاريخِ أَملاكُ العُلى

وَهُناكَ بِالتاريخِ أَملاكُ العُلى

نَطَقَت بِاعلانِ الخَلاصِ لِيُوسُفِ

نَطَقَت بِاعلانِ الخَلاصِ لِيُوسُفِ

And there, in the chronogram, the angels on high

And there in history are the possessions of the Exalted,

Spoke, proclaiming salvation for Yusuf.

They proclaimed the deliverance of Joseph.
