A full moon vanished, enfolded in the dust;
The full moon set, sinking into the dust of the grave
and a downpour from the clouds of tears drenched him.
So it rained on him tears of lament from the clouds

خانَbetrayed الزَمانُTime أَباهُhis father مُلحِماًMulhim سَفَهاًfoolishly

فَلَمand not يَكُنْthere was عِندَهُwith it خَوفٌfear وَإِجلالُand reverence

So he inscribed the letters of a chronogram, lamenting through them:
He etched the letters of a date for grieving
“The peerless one now has peers in the grave.”
