Was a full moon that shone, a delight to the eyes.

A radiant full moon bringing joy to all eyes

هَذا رَسولُ السَعدِ جاءَ مُبَشِّراً

هَذا رَسولُ السَعدِ جاءَ مُبَشِّراً

بِالصَفوِ وَالإِقبالِ وَالعَيشِ الهَنِي

بِالصَفوِ وَالإِقبالِ وَالعَيشِ الهَنِي

This is fortune’s messenger, come bearing glad tidings

This is the messenger of good fortune who came bearing glad tidings

Of serenity, prosperity, and a pleasant life.

Of amiability, prosperity, and a happy life

خَلَفٌ بِهِ الرَحمانُ أَحسَن أَرِّخوا

خَلَفٌ بِهِ الرَحمانُ أَحسَن أَرِّخوا

فَلِذاكَ قَد سَمّوهُ عَبدَ المُحسنِ

فَلِذاكَ قَد سَمّوهُ عَبدَ المُحسنِ

So they have indeed named him Abd al-Muhsin.

Thus he was named Abd al-Muhsin
