لَحِقَت بِهِ عجلاً كَما شاءَ القَضا

She is the wife of Ibrahim al-Absi; she has

swiftly joined him, as fate willed.

قَد جاوَرَتهُ في الحياةِ وَفي الرَدى

فَوفَت لَهُ حَقَّ الوِدادِ كَما اِقتَضى

فَوفَت لَهُ حَقَّ الوِدادِ كَما اِقتَضى

Indeed, she dwelt beside him in life and in death,

and so fulfilled her duty of affection toward him, as was required.

وَهُناكَ وافتهُ مَلائكةُ العُلى

وَهُناكَ وافتهُ مَلائكةُ العُلى

تَهديهِ تاريخَ التَحيةِ وَالرِضى

تَهديهِ تاريخَ التَحيةِ وَالرِضى

And there the angels of heaven came to him,

And there the angels on high greeted them,

offering him the chronogram “Greeting and Favor.”

Bearing the chronicle of salutation and contentment.
