يا مالِكاً ظافرَ الأَنصارِ ضاءَ عَلى

يا مالِكاً ظافرَ الأَنصارِ ضاءَ عَلى

أَرضٍ رَبيعاً بَهيّاً وَردهُ نَضِرا

أَرضٍ رَبيعاً بَهيّاً وَردهُ نَضِرا

O sovereign with triumphant supporters, who shone upon

O Malik, shining victor of Ansar, dawn shone

A land as a splendid spring, its roses fresh,

Upon a land where spring was fresh, its roses dewy,

وَضَحَّيتَ لِلّه ظِلّاً مِنهُ بادِرنا

وَضَحَّيتَ لِلّه ظِلّاً مِنهُ بادِرنا

راعٍ وَحفظُ وجودٍ وَبلُهُ غَمَرا

راعٍ وَحفظُ وجودٍ وَبلُهُ غَمَرا

And you sacrificed to God a shade from Him—hasten to us,

And you sacrificed for God a shade from it—we rushed

A shepherd, protection, and bounty whose downpour overflowed.

To guard its being, though its flood o'erwhelmed us.
