Meeting pleasure in the morn and eve
فَتىًa youth مِنamong بَنِيthe sons of الخَيرِgoodness الأَكارمِthe noble قَدindeed نَشَاgrew up
فَتىً مِن بَنِي الخَيرِ الأَكارمِ قَد نَشَا
عَلىin الخَيرِgoodness مَعروفاًknown بِكُلِّfor every جَميلِvirtue
عَلى الخَيرِ مَعروفاً بِكُلِّ جَميلِ
A youth among the noble sons of goodness, he grew up
A noble youth of virtuous descent
In goodness, known for every virtue.
Known for all that is good and fair
مَضىdeparted راحِلاًleaving عَناfrom us فَأدرَكَso he attained فيin العُلىthe heights
مَضى راحِلاً عَنا فَأدرَكَ في العُلى
أَجلَّthe most exalted ثَوابٍreward فيin النَعيمِbliss جَزيلِabundant
أَجلَّ ثَوابٍ في النَعيمِ جَزيلِ
He departed, leaving us, and attained on high
He left us traveling to attain
The most exalted reward, abundant amid bliss.
Great reward in abundant bliss
فَياso, O نَفسهُhis soul أَرَّخَتْshe recorded the date فيat الأَوجِthe zenith فَاِنعميso enjoy bliss
فَيا نَفسهُ أَرَّخَتْ في الأَوجِ فَاِنعمي
وَياand, O قَبرهُhis grave بَشرىglad tidings بِخَيرِof the finest نَزيلِguest
وَيا قَبرهُ بَشرى بِخَيرِ نَزيلِ
So, O his soul, having recorded the date at the zenith, enjoy bliss!
Oh his soul, rest on high in peace
And, O his grave, glad tidings of the finest guest!
