Return to me glances forever nourished by

Love, plain in my eyes, not buried.

وقد ترى الدمع يخفيه إلى حين

You will see your beauty traced in my eyes,

And you may see tears hide it for a time.

وأجر في مسمعي صوتاً نعمت به

يكاد يذهل عن عقل وعن دين

يكاد يذهل عن عقل وعن دين

And let a voice I have delighted in flow into my ear;

It nearly distracts one from reason and faith.

He took it, as its softness deafened the ear,
