    And those maidens’ dewy beauty.

  4. تدعوك للتصابي

    يا غرض الخطوب

    They beckon you to youthful dalliance,

    O target of calamities,

  5. في جوفه الرحيب

    هل من فتى لبيب

    Within their spacious depths.

    Is there a discerning youth,

  6. موفقٍ سعيد

    قد ضاق بالخطوب

    Favored and happy,

    Who has grown weary of calamities

  7. ذرعاً وبالوجود

    يفوز في شعوبي

    And of existence,

    Who wins within my channels

  8. باللؤلؤ المنضود

    هل من فتى سعيد

    Pearls arrayed in rows?

    Is there a happy youth

  9. يمرح في الظلام

    مع الحسان الحور

    Who frolics in the darkness

    With the beautiful, wide-eyed maidens,

  10. محسور اللثام

    مهدولة الشعور

    With the face-veil drawn back,

    Their tresses hanging loose,

  11. كأنها أحلامي

    أو صورة الخرير

    As though they were my dreams,

    Or an image of murmuring water,

  12. تشدو إلى الأفهام

    بالنغم النضير

    Singing to the mind

    In fresh melody,

  13. تفرح بالغرام

    كالروض بالغدير

    Rejoicing in passionate love,

    As a meadow rejoices in a pool,

  14. والبحر بالصخور

    And the sea in rocks?
