Indeed, there has come to us from your domain

فقمت لها على الاقدام شوقاً

So I rose to my feet for her in longing,

So I stood up for her eagerly

for the beauty of the mutual accord she reveals.

For the fairness she displays

ولمَّا افترَّ مبسمها وفاهت

باهداء السلام بلا انقباضِ

And when her mouth parted in a smile and she spoke,

And when her smile shone through and she came

offering greetings of peace without reserve,

With greetings of peace without reservation

فرحت مقبّل الارضين شكراً

فرحت مقبّل الارضين شكراً

لحسن سماحكم عن كل ماضي

لحسن سماحكم عن كل ماضي

I set about kissing the earth in gratitude

I was overjoyed, kissing the ground in thanks

for your gracious pardon of all that is past.

For your kind forgiveness of all the past

فمثلكم يحقُّ ان يسمَّى

فمثلكم يحقُّ ان يسمَّى

مسيحياً وذاك بلا اعتراضِ

مسيحياً وذاك بلا اعتراضِ

So one such as you may rightly be called

The likes of you deserve to be called

a Christian—and that without objection—

Christian, that is beyond doubt

وممدوحاً ومحمود الثنا من

وممدوحاً ومحمود الثنا من

جميع الناس في كلّ الأراضي

جميع الناس في كلّ الأراضي

and praised, and spoken of with acclaim by

And praised and lauded by all

all people in every land.
