Leave off this youthful dalliance: youthful desire is not approved.
Let go of this coquetry, for youth is not eternal
And cease your teasing; tint your face or brighten it.
And cease your play, restrain yourself, and compose your face

and hope I will fulfill your wish; I will not.
And you hope that I fulfill your desires, but I will not

nourished by the freshness of soft, tender youth.
Nourished by the softness of fleeting youth

Generosity and beneficence are nothing but a trade;
Generosity and charity are but a trade
they both increase wealth, standing, and honor.
That increases one's wealth, stature, and honor

The wise see prudence in clasping

And when I withhold, the horizons of the earth constrict for me
