طعامُكyour food منfrom دارthe abode of النعيمbliss بعثْتَهُyou sent it
فشرَفتَهso you ennobled it منfrom حيثwhere أدريI know ولاand not أدريI know
You sent your food from the Abode of Bliss,
Your food from the abode of bliss you have sent,
and so ennobled it in ways I know and do not know.
So I have relished it though I know not nor comprehend.
بهضبةon a hill of نعمىbounty قدindeed سموناwe rose لأوجهاto its summit
فصِدْناso we caught بأعلاهاat its summit الشّهيَّthe delectable منamong الطَّيرِbirds
On a hill of bounty we rose to its summit,
On a plateau of bounty we have ascended its summits,
and at its peak we caught delectable birds.
Hunting with its heights the noblest of birds.
وقوراءَand a broad, round dish قدindeed دُرْناwe circled بهالةaround the halo of بدرهاits full moon
كماjust as دارتcircled الزُهرُthe radiant النجومُstars علىaround البدرthe full moon
And a broad, round dish—we circled its full moon's halo,
And partridges that we have circled with the splendor of its full moon,
as the radiant stars circled the full moon.
As the flowers and stars circle the moon.

هديَّةa gift مولىa lord حلّsettled فيat مفرقthe crown of the head الفخرglory
And it was carried above heads, for it is
And it was carried above heads because it is
a gift from a lord who dwells at glory's crown.
A gift from the Master who arrived at the pinnacle of pride.
فماso whatever شئتyou wished منof طعمflavor زكيِّpure مهنِّاًwholesome
وماand whatever شئتyou wished منof عَرْفaroma ذكيfragrant ومنand of نشرwafting perfume
So there is all you could wish of pure, wholesome flavor,
So whatever ripe, refined flavor you wished,
and all you could wish of fragrant aroma and wafting perfume.
And whatever fragrant, subtle scent you wished.
فلوso if أنهاthat it قدindeed قُدِّمتْwas presented لخليفةٍto a caliph

Had it been presented to a caliph,
Had it been presented to a caliph,
he would have prized it highly and been lavish in his thanks.
He would have esteemed it greatly and given abundant thanks.
وكمand how many لكyou have منof نُعمىfavors عليّupon me عميمةٍall-embracing
يقلُّfalls short لأدناهاfor the least of them الجميلُthe fine منof الذكرpraise
And how many all-embracing favors you have bestowed on me—
And how many bounties upon me you have lavished,
fine words of praise fall short of even the least of them.
Too numerous for the beautiful to express.
فلاso never زلتmay you cease ياO مولىlord of الملوكkings مُبَلَّغاًenabled to attain
أمانيَّwishes ترجوهاyou hope for them إلىunto سالفbygone الدهرِtime
So may you ever, O lord of kings, be granted
So you remain, O Master of Kings, conveyed to me
the wishes you cherish, unto time's bygone ages.
My wishes stretching to the ancients of time.
