لمنwhose قبةٌa dome حمراءred مُدْspread out نُضارُهاits gold
لمن قبةٌ حمراء مُدْ نُضارُها
تطابقcorrespond منهاwithin it أرضُهاits earth وسماؤُهاand its sky
تطابق منها أرضُها وسماؤُها
Whose is this red dome, with its gold spread wide?
For whom is there a red dome whose beauty matches
Within it, its earth and its sky correspond.
The earth below and the sky above?
وماand not أرضهاits earth إلاexcept خزائنُstorehouses رحمةٍmercy
وما أرضها إلا خزائنُ رحمةٍ
وماand what قدhas سماrisen منfrom فوقabove ذاكthat غطاؤُهاits covering
وما قد سما من فوق ذاك غطاؤُها
And its earth is nothing but storehouses of mercy,
The earth below holds treasures of mercy,
And what has risen above that is its covering.
And that which arches above is its cover.
وقدand indeed شبّهlikened الرحمنthe Most Merciful خلقتناour creation بهto it
وقد شبّه الرحمن خلقتنا به
وحسبُكand enough for you فخراًas glory بانbecame evident منهfrom it اعتلاؤُهاits exaltation
وحسبُك فخراً بان منه اعتلاؤُها
And the Most Merciful has indeed likened our creation to it,
The Merciful made our creation in its image,
And glory enough for you—its exaltation is evident from this.
It is honor enough that we came from its elevation.
ومعروشةِand trellised الأرجاءthe sides مفروشةٍspread out بهاwithin it
ومعروشةِ الأرجاء مفروشةٍ بها
صنوفٌvarieties منof النعماءbounty منهاfrom it وطاؤُهاits bedding
صنوفٌ من النعماء منها وطاؤُها
And its sides are trellised; within it are spread
Its furnishings are spread with varieties of favors,
Varieties of bounty, from which its bedding is made.
Blessings from it and shelter by it.
ترىyou see الطيرthe birds فيin أجوافهاits hollows قدalready تصفّفتlined up in rows
ترى الطير في أجوافها قد تصفّفت
علىupon نعمblessings عندwith الإلهGod كفاؤُهاtheir recompense
على نعم عند الإله كفاؤُها
You see the birds within its hollows arrayed in rows,
You see the birds lined up within it
Upon blessings whose recompense rests with God.
For the blessings from God that are its right.
ونسبتهاand its lineage صنهاجةSanhaja غيرexcept أنهاthat it
ونسبتها صنهاجة غير أنها
تُقَصِّرُfalls short عمَّاof what قدalready حوىpossessed خلفاؤهاits caliphs
تُقَصِّرُ عمَّا قد حوى خلفاؤها
And its lineage is Sanhaja, except that it
Its affiliation is glory, though it falls short
Falls short of what its caliphs have possessed.
Of containing what its successors held.
حبتنيfavored me بهاwith it دونrather than العبيدthe servants خلافةٌa caliphate
حبتني بها دون العبيد خلافةٌ
علىupon اللهGod فيon يومthe Day الجزاءof Recompense جزاؤهاits reward
على الله في يوم الجزاء جزاؤها
A caliphate favored me with it over the other servants;
The caliphate has made me love it over slaves
Its reward on the Day of Recompense rests with God.
So my reward from God on Judgment Day is through it.
