and whose excellence has made him resemble the angels.

By God, time and its people would never have known
By Allah, time and its people never knew,
lasting safety and good fortune, were it not for you.
Always safety and prosperity without you.

Fresh from blossoming branches as if
they had been threaded into strands, so beautiful were they.
Arranged from their beauty like necklaces.

Their delightful flavor is sweet in the mouth;
Sweet on mouths the taste of it,
but for their bodily form, I would take them for praise of you.
Were it not for incarnation, we’d think them your gifts.

A flock of wildcats when they came to your call.

You conveyed to your servant his request regarding the children,
may you never cease to attain your wishes for your sons.
You still convey regarding your sons their wishes.
