مولايَ يومُ الجُمُعَهْ

My lord, Friday—

My Master, on Friday

its good fortunes are gathered together.

Its gathering brings joy

فانعم صباحاً واغتنم

فانعم صباحاً واغتنم

أوقاتَه المجتمعَهْ

أوقاتَه المجتمعَهْ

So have a happy morning, and seize

So have a blessed morning and make the most

its gathered hours.

Of its gathered times

أبشرْ بصنع عاجلٍ

أبشرْ بصنع عاجلٍ

أعلامُهُ مرتفعَهْ

أعلامُهُ مرتفعَهْ

Rejoice in an imminent favor;

Rejoice in doing good swiftly

its banners are raised high.

With standards held high

وانتظر الفتح الذي

وانتظر الفتح الذي

يأتيك بالنصر معَهْ

يأتيك بالنصر معَهْ

And await the conquest that

And await the conquest that

comes to you, bringing victory with it.

Will bring you victory

وبيضُه وسُمْرُهُ

وبيضُه وسُمْرُهُ

إلى العداة مُشْرَعَهْ

إلى العداة مُشْرَعَهْ

And its white swords and brown spears

With its whiteness and redness

are leveled at the enemies.

To the enemies displayed

واللطفُ مرجوٌّ فرِدْ

واللطفُ مرجوٌّ فرِدْ

بفضل ربي مَشْرَعَهْ

بفضل ربي مَشْرَعَهْ

And grace is hoped for; so approach

And kindness is hoped for, so grant

its watering place, by my Lord's favor.

With my Lord's grace widespread

فاتحتني شَرَّفتني

فاتحتني شَرَّفتني

برقعة مرفّعَهْ

برقعة مرفّعَهْ

You opened correspondence with me; you honored me

You have opened me, ennobled me

with an exalted letter.

With a banner raised

بل روضة ممطورة

بل روضة ممطورة

أزهارها منوّعَهْ

أزهارها منوّعَهْ

Rather, a rain-watered meadow—

Rather, a well-watered garden

its blossoms are of many kinds.

Its flowers diverse arrayed

حديقةٌ قد جدتها

حديقةٌ قد جدتها

بصوب جود مترعَهْ

بصوب جود مترعَهْ

A garden you have watered

An orchard I have found it to be

with a downpour of bounty, filled to the brim;

By the side of flowing grace

وراية منشورةٌ

وراية منشورةٌ

وآيةٌ مستبدعَهْ

وآيةٌ مستبدعَهْ

and a banner unfurled,

And a flag unfurled

and a wondrous sign.

With brilliant verse displayed

كم حكمٍ لطيفةٍ

كم حكمٍ لطيفةٍ

في طيِّها مستودَعَهْ

في طيِّها مستودَعَهْ

How many subtle maxims

What wise sayings

lie stored within its folds!

In its folds stored

عقيلةٌ صورتها

عقيلةٌ صورتها

من الجمال مبدعَهْ

من الجمال مبدعَهْ

A noble lady whose form

A lovely image

is marvelously fashioned from beauty.

Of beauty made

سَقَيْتَني من فضلها

سَقَيْتَني من فضلها

بفضل كأسٍ مُتْرعَهْ

بفضل كأسٍ مُتْرعَهْ

You gave me to drink of her bounty

You let me drink from her excellence

with the bounty of a brimming cup.

From a cup that overflows

فَدُمْ وأملاكُ الورى

فَدُمْ وأملاكُ الورى

على عُلاك مُجْمِعَهْ

على عُلاك مُجْمِعَهْ

So endure, while the kings of humankind

So stay, and may the lords of earth

are unanimous about your exalted rank.
