وشذا المحامد أم شذا الأزهارِ

Is it the radiance of guidance, or the light of day?

Are these rays of guidance, or the radiance of day?

And the fragrance of virtues, or the fragrance of flowers?

Is this the fragrance of praise, or the scent of flowers?

قسماً بهديك في الضياء وإنه

شمس تمدُّ الشهب بالأَنوارِ

I swear by your guidance in its radiance—and indeed it

I swear by your guidance amidst the light, it is

Is a sun that supplies the bright stars with light.

A sun that pours forth rays of light.
