إن الإمام محمدا

أهدى الخليفة أحمَدَا

أهدى الخليفة أحمَدَا

Indeed, Imam Muhammad

Imam Muhammad

gave Caliph Ahmad

Gifted the caliph Ahmed

للباسِهِ ثوباً وقد

للباسِهِ ثوباً وقد

لَبِس المحامد وارتدى

لَبِس المحامد وارتدى

a robe for him to wear, though he had already

With a robe, and he

donned praiseworthy qualities and arrayed himself in them,

Wore praise and donned

وعمامة التقوى التي

وعمامة التقوى التي

من فوقها شَمسُ الهدى

من فوقها شَمسُ الهدى

and the turban of piety, which

The turban of piety which

has the sun of guidance above it.

Above it shines the sun of guidance

يا حسنها إذ أرسلت

يا حسنها إذ أرسلت

من كفّه غيْث الندى

من كفّه غيْث الندى

How lovely it was when it was sent

Oh how beautiful when he sent

from his palm, a shower of bounty!

From his palm the rain of generosity

وكأنَّ وشْيَ رُقومها

وكأنَّ وشْيَ رُقومها

بالبرق طُرُزَ عَسْجَدَا

بالبرق طُرُزَ عَسْجَدَا

And as though the embroidery of its designs

As if the lining of his turban

were embroidered in gold with lightning.

Was embroidered with lightning on black

وبطرزه لونٌ السما

وبطرزه لونٌ السما

ء ووجهه قمر بدا

ء ووجهه قمر بدا

And its embroidery bears the color of the sky,

And with its embroidery a hue of sky

and his face is a moon that has appeared.

And his face a rising moon

لله منه نَيِّرٌ

لله منه نَيِّرٌ

حَلَّ المنازل أَسعَدا

حَلَّ المنازل أَسعَدا

God be praised for the luminary in him,

To God he is a shining light

who settled in the celestial mansions, most auspicious—

Who reached the most felicitous abodes

مستنصر أعلى له

مستنصر أعلى له

فوق المنازل أسعُدا

فوق المنازل أسعُدا

Mustansir, for whom He raised

Seeking help, the most exalted for him

lucky stars above the celestial mansions.

Above the abodes, most felicitous
