أسائل بدرَ التَّمِّ كيف هلالُهُ

أسائل بدرَ التَّمِّ كيف هلالُهُ

وأدعو له الرّحمن جلَّ جلالُهُ

وأدعو له الرّحمن جلَّ جلالُهُ

I ask the full moon how his crescent fares.

I ask the full moon, how is its crescent?

And I pray for him to the All-Merciful—exalted is His majesty.

And I pray to the Most Merciful, majestic is His glory,

ستبلُغُ فيه ما تؤمَّلُ من مُنىً

ستبلُغُ فيه ما تؤمَّلُ من مُنىً

ويُرضيك يا بدَ الكمال كمالُهُ

ويُرضيك يا بدَ الكمال كمالُهُ

Through him you will attain the wishes hoped for.

You will attain in it what you wish,

And his perfection will please you, O full moon of perfection.

And you will be pleased, O perfection of beauty, by its perfection.
