وكأنّ النجومَ في غَسَقِ الليْلِ

وكأنّ النجومَ في غَسَقِ الليْلِ

جُمانٌ يلوح من آبنوسِ

جُمانٌ يلوح من آبنوسِ

And as though the stars in the darkness of night

And like the stars in nightfall's gloom

Were pearls gleaming from ebony;

Appear as coals that glow up from the abyss

وكأنَّ الصباحَ في الأفق يُجْلَى

وكأنَّ الصباحَ في الأفق يُجْلَى

بحُليِّ النجوم مثلَ العروس

بحُليِّ النجوم مثلَ العروس

And as though dawn on the horizon were unveiled

And like the dawn on the horizon gleams

With the stars’ jewels, like a bride;

Adorned in stars' array like a new bride

وكأنّ الرياض تهدي ثناءً

وكأنّ الرياض تهدي ثناءً

للغنيّ بالله فوق الطروسِ

للغنيّ بالله فوق الطروسِ

And as though the gardens offered praise

And like the meadows make a song of praise

To al-Ghani bi-llah upon the pages.

To God on high beyond all citadels
