Ridwan, may you always remain content with divine decree and destiny.

I am still content with fate and destiny

Remembering God and giving thanks, keeping clear of filth and distress.

Remembering and thanking, avoiding vileness and gloom

واعلم بأن المقدر ليس عنه مفر

واعلم بأن المقدر ليس عنه مفر

وليس ينجي من المكتوب خرم أو حذر

وليس ينجي من المكتوب خرم أو حذر

And know that there is no escape from what is decreed.

And I know the destined cannot be avoided

Neither a breach nor caution can save one from what is written.

Nor can the written be saved by any hole or caution

سلم وفوض وكن شاكر مع من شكر

سلم وفوض وكن شاكر مع من شكر

واحذر وإياك من هذا الجزع والضجر

واحذر وإياك من هذا الجزع والضجر

Submit, entrust your affairs, and be thankful with those who give thanks.

Submit and entrust, being thankful along with those who are thankful

Beware, and guard yourself against this impatience and vexation.

And beware you of this frustration and annoyance

اشهد وراقب وكن حاضر مع من شكر

اشهد وراقب وكن حاضر مع من شكر

فالكل فعله تعالى في الذي ساوسر

فالكل فعله تعالى في الذي ساوسر

Bear witness, keep watch, and be present with those who give thanks.

Testify and observe, being present with those who are thankful

For all is His doing—exalted is He—in what grieves and what gladdens.

For all are His deeds glorified, in that which he determined

وأهل ذا الوقت صاروا كلهم محض شر

وأهل ذا الوقت صاروا كلهم محض شر

تجردوا للعداوة والاذى والضرر

تجردوا للعداوة والاذى والضرر

And the people of this age have all become pure evil.

And the people of this time have all become sheer evil

They have devoted themselves to enmity, injury, and harm.

Disrobed for enmity, harm and damage

الا قليلا ولا حكم على من ندر

الا قليلا ولا حكم على من ندر

يجلي الهم ذي عندي ظهر وانتشر

يجلي الهم ذي عندي ظهر وانتشر

Except for a few; judgment is not based on rare exceptions.

Except a few, and no judgment on those who are rare

He dispels the sorrow that has arisen and spread within me.

My worries are exposed and have spread

ودعوة من فؤاد مشفق في السحر

ودعوة من فؤاد مشفق في السحر

يصلح بها لك أمرى من جميع الصور

يصلح بها لك أمرى من جميع الصور

And a prayer from a compassionate heart in the hour before dawn,

And a prayer from a compassionate heart at dawn

Through it, my affairs are set right for you in every respect.

That corrects your matter in every way

ولا أرى بأس في الدنيا ولا المستقر

ولا أرى بأس في الدنيا ولا المستقر

عسى عسى من عظيم الفضل نلقى الظفر

عسى عسى من عظيم الفضل نلقى الظفر

And I see no distress in this world or in the final abode.

And I see no harm in this life or the next

Perhaps, perhaps, through immense grace we shall attain triumph.

Maybe, maybe from the immense grace we will find victory

نقسم مع من شكرر به ومع من صبر

نقسم مع من شكرر به ومع من صبر

يا رب يا رب يا خالق لكل البشر

يا رب يا رب يا خالق لكل البشر

We share it with those who gave thanks for it and with those who were patient.

We share with those who are thankful to Him and those who endure

O Lord, O Lord, O Creator of all humankind.

Oh Lord, Oh Lord, Oh Creator of all people

وفق وسدد واصلح ما بطن أو ظهر

وفق وسدد واصلح ما بطن أو ظهر

واختم بخير إذا حان الظعن والسفر

واختم بخير إذا حان الظعن والسفر

Grant success, guide aright, and set right what is hidden or manifest.

Guide, make firm, and correct what is hidden or exposed

And grant a good ending when departure and the journey come.

And conclude with good when the appointed time and journey arrives

وكن لنا عندما يرصف علينا المدر

وكن لنا عندما يرصف علينا المدر

وارحم الهي إذا صرنا بطون الحفر

وارحم الهي إذا صرنا بطون الحفر

And stand by us when clods of earth are laid over us.

And be for us when bitter events befall us

And have mercy, my God, when we find ourselves in the depths of the pits.

And have mercy my God when we are in the belly of the graves

عبره وفكره لمن يسمع ومن له نظر

عبره وفكره لمن يسمع ومن له نظر

لمن له قلب يفكر في فنون الفكر

لمن له قلب يفكر في فنون الفكر

A lesson and a reflection for whoever hears and whoever has insight,

A lesson and reflection for those who listen and those who can see

For whoever has a heart that ponders the many forms of thought.

For those who have a heart that reflects on the arts of reflection

يا رب صل وسلم في الأصل والبكر

يا رب صل وسلم في الأصل والبكر

على النبي والصحابه النجوم الغرر

على النبي والصحابه النجوم الغرر

O Lord, bestow blessings and grant peace in the late afternoons and early mornings,

Oh Lord bless and bestow peace in the origin and succession

Upon the Prophet and the Companions, the radiant stars.

Upon the Prophet and the star-like honorable companions
