Praise be to the One, the All-Merciful,

Praise be to the One, the Merciful

the Benefactor, the Bountiful, the Bestower of favors,

The Benefactor, the Gracious, the Bestower

ذي الجود والبر والإحسان

ذي الجود والبر والإحسان

ذي جوده لم يزل هتان

ذي جوده لم يزل هتان

possessor of generosity, goodness, and beneficence,

Of generosity, righteousness and favor

whose generosity has never ceased to pour down.

Whose generosity has always been abundant

يارب يارب ياوهاب

يارب يارب ياوهاب

يامبدل الخلق والأسباب

يامبدل الخلق والأسباب

O Lord, O Lord, O lavish Giver!

O Lord, O Grantor, O Bestower

O Changer of creation and causes!

O Changer of destinies and causes

ياغافر الذنب يا نواب

ياغافر الذنب يا نواب

أسألك توبتك والغفران

أسألك توبتك والغفران

O Forgiver of sin, O [Ever-Relenting One?],

O Forgiver of sins, O Helper

I ask You for Your acceptance of repentance and forgiveness.

يارب يا من يرى قلبي

يارب يا من يرى قلبي

وما بباطني من كرب

وما بباطني من كرب

O Lord, O You who see my heart,

O Lord, O You who sees my heart

and whatever distress lies within me.

And what troubles lie within

علمك حسبي كفى حسبي

علمك حسبي كفى حسبي

من كثر شكواي والهذيان

من كثر شكواي والهذيان

Your knowledge suffices me; that sufficiency spares me

Your knowledge is enough for me, enough for me

from my many complaints and ramblings.

From my many complaints and ramblings

مالي سوى حيلة إلا

مالي سوى حيلة إلا

فقري دواما إلى المولى

فقري دواما إلى المولى

I have no other recourse except

I have no tactic except

my constant need for the Master.

My poverty always toward the Master

فذابي أحرى وذا أولى

فذابي أحرى وذا أولى

ما حازه العاقل الإنسان

ما حازه العاقل الإنسان

So this is more fitting for me, and this the worthiest thing

So my melting is more fitting, and this is more appropriate

that a rational human being has attained.

Than what the reasonable human has gained

فهل ترى أيها العاقل

فهل ترى أيها العاقل

غيره معه عامل أو فاعل

غيره معه عامل أو فاعل

Do you then see, O rational one,

So do You see, O reasonable one

anyone besides Him, working or acting alongside Him?

Other than Him a worker or a doer

حاشاه حاشاه من جاهل

حاشاه حاشاه من جاهل

يقول بالإفك والبهتان

يقول بالإفك والبهتان

Far removed is He, far removed, from any ignorant one

Far above, far above from the ignorant

who speaks falsehood and slander.

Who speaks falsehood and slander

إني وإن كنت أنا المسرف

إني وإن كنت أنا المسرف

الظالم الجاهل المجنف

الظالم الجاهل المجنف

Indeed, though I myself am the transgressor,

Although I am the extravagant one

the wrongdoer, the ignorant one, the one inclined to injustice,

The unjust, the ignorant, the stubborn

أرجو إليه على يعطف

أرجو إليه على يعطف

باليمن والأمن والإيمان

باليمن والأمن والإيمان

I look to Him in hope that He may show kindness [to me],

I hope for His kindness upon me

with blessing, security, and faith,

With prosperity, safety and faith

والفضل والجودة والإكرام

والفضل والجودة والإكرام

والبر والمن والأنعام

والبر والمن والأنعام

and bounty, generosity, and honor,

And bounty, generosity and honor

and goodness, favor, and [benefactions?],

And righteousness, favor and boons

في لطف في حفظ في إتمام

في لطف في حفظ في إتمام

على خز الحاسد الشنآن

على خز الحاسد الشنآن

in gentleness, in protection, in fulfillment,

With gentleness, protection and completion

against the stabbing of the hateful envier.

Against the rancor of the hostile enemy

ويكفي الشر والأشرار

ويكفي الشر والأشرار

ويذهب الهم والأكدار

ويذهب الهم والأكدار

And may He ward off evil and evildoers,

And He suffices against evil and evildoers

and remove worry and sorrows,

And takes away worries and sorrows

ويحفظ الأهل لي والجار

ويحفظ الأهل لي والجار

مع المحبين والإخوان

مع المحبين والإخوان

and protect my family and neighbor for me,

And protects my family, neighbor

along with loving friends and brethren.

And loved ones and brothers

ويأتي الفتح من فتاح

ويأتي الفتح من فتاح

فضلا بل كسب أو مفتاح

فضلا بل كسب أو مفتاح

And may victory come from the Opener,

And bring victory from the Opener

as bounty, [without?] earnings or a key.

Grace, or even gain, or key

فسيل فضله علينا ساح

فسيل فضله علينا ساح

سقى جميع العرب في آن

سقى جميع العرب في آن

So the torrent of His bounty flowed over us;

So pour down His grace upon us abundant

it watered all the Arabs in a single instant.

Watering all the Arabs in an instant

يارب واختم لنا بالخير

يارب واختم لنا بالخير

إن حان حين أوان السير

إن حان حين أوان السير

O Lord, and bring us to a good end,

O Lord, and conclude for us with goodness

if the hour of departure comes,

If the time of departure has come

واكفنا كل بؤس أو ضير

واكفنا كل بؤس أو ضير

واحمنا لظى النيران

واحمنا لظى النيران

and spare us every misery or harm,

And spare us any misery or harm

and protect us from the blaze of the fires.

And protect us from the flames

ثم الصلاة على المختار

ثم الصلاة على المختار

مع السلام عدد الأمطار

مع السلام عدد الأمطار

Then blessings upon the Chosen One,

Then blessings upon the Chosen

with peace, as numerous as the rains,

With peace as numerous as the raindrops

وآله وأصحابه الأطهار

وآله وأصحابه الأطهار

ماغرد الطير في الأغصان

ماغرد الطير في الأغصان

and upon his family and his pure companions,

And his family and pure companions

as long as birds sing among the branches.
