رب لا خيبت آمال الفقير

العبيد المحض من بك مستجير

العبيد المحض من بك مستجير

Lord, do not dash the poor man's hopes,

My Lord, do not disappoint the hopes of the poor,

the lowly, wholly devoted servant who seeks refuge in You

The abject slaves who seek refuge in Your tears,

من جميع ما به أنت خبير

من جميع ما به أنت خبير

فاصلح أمري واطف ما بين الجنوب

فاصلح أمري واطف ما بين الجنوب

from everything of which You are fully aware.

Of all that ails them You are fully aware,

So set my affairs right, and quench what lies between my ribs.

So rectify my affairs and heal what lies between my ribs,

رب واصلح للفواد واعطني فوق المراد

رب واصلح للفواد واعطني فوق المراد

أنك الرب الجواد

أنك الرب الجواد

Lord, set my heart right, and grant me more than I desire.

My Lord rectify my heart and grant me more than I hope for,

For You are the bountiful Lord.

You are the Most Generous Lord,

وانا الطلاب لست بالكسوب

وانا الطلاب لست بالكسوب

وعلى الخير من ربي سكوب

وعلى الخير من ربي سكوب

And I am the constant asker, not one who earns,

While I am the seeker, not the earner,

and goodness from my Lord pours abundantly upon me.

And upon the goodness from my Lord I depend.
