اللهGod كانwas ولاand no شيءthing معهwith Him
الله كان ولا شيء معه
وهوand He ماwhat عليهupon it الآنnow كانwas
وهو ما عليه الآن كان
God was, and nothing was with Him.
God was and nothing was with Him
And He is now as He was.
And He now is as He was
سبحانهglory be to Him عزis mighty مولاناour Master وجلand is exalted
سبحانه عز مولانا وجل
عنabove أنthat يكونthere should be لهfor Him فيin الكونexistence ثانa second
عن أن يكون له في الكون ثان
Glory be to Him! Our Master is mighty and exalted,
Glory be to Him, mighty is our Lord and sublime
Far above having a second in existence.
That He should have a second in the universe
اللهGod اللهGod لاnot نشهدwe behold سواهother than Him
الله الله لا نشهد سواه
وكنand be بهthrough Him عنfrom جميعall الغيرفانthe other; effaced
وكن به عن جميع الغيرفان
God, God! We behold none but Him.
God, God we witness none but Him
And through Him, be effaced from all else.
And with Him turn away from all others
تباركblessed and exalted للهto God لاnot أحصيI enumerate ثناءpraise
تبارك لله لا أحصي ثناء
نعمhow excellent الوليthe Protector النصيرthe Helper المستعانthe One whose aid is sought
نعم الولي النصير المستعان
Blessed be God; I cannot number His praises.
Blessed is Allah, I cannot count His praises
How excellent the Protector, the Helper, the One whose aid is sought!
What an excellent Guardian, Helper, and Trusted One
