Sol 6.1

  1. يا خليلي إن شئت كل السرور

    والهنا ههنا يوم النشور

    O my friend, if you wish for every joy,

    And bliss here on the Day of Resurrection,

  2. اتق الله في الخفا والظهور

    واتبع الشرع في جميع الأمور

    Fear God in secret and in the open,

    And follow the sacred law in all affairs.

  3. والخمول الخمول إن شئت تنجو

    إن في ذا الظهور قصم الظهور

    And obscurity, obscurity—if you wish to be saved:

    In such prominence lies the breaking of backs.

  4. والفضول وكل ما ليس يعني

    لاتجئه سوى لامر ضروري

    And meddling, and everything that does not concern you—

    Do not approach it except for a necessary purpose.

  5. إن فيهم شرا وفيك شرور

    فاعتزلهم تكفي جميع الشرور

    There is evil in them, and evils in you;

    So withdraw from them; you will be spared all evils.

  6. واطلب العلم في صباح وممسي

    وبليل وبالعشي والبكور

    And seek knowledge in the morning and evening,

    And by night, in the late afternoon, and at daybreak.

  7. إن في العلم كل فوز ونجح

    إن في العلم كل خير ونور

    In knowledge, indeed, lie all triumph and success;

    In knowledge, indeed, lie all goodness and light.

  8. فبه تعرف الإله وتعرف

    كل أمر في ورده والصدور

    For through it you know God, and you know

    Every matter in its coming and going.

  9. واذكر الله واتخذه جليسا

    لا تجالس سوى الرحيم الغفور

    And remember God, and take Him as a companion;

    Keep company with none but the Merciful, the All-Forgiving,

  10. الجواد الكريم معطي العطايا

    فضله عم للوطا والوعور

    The Bountiful, the Generous, the Giver of gifts.

    His bounty has spread over level and rugged ground.

  11. باسط فضله على كل عبد

    من تقي ومن ظلوم كفور

    He spreads His bounty over every servant,

    Whether God-fearing or deeply unjust and ungrateful.

  12. مظهر للجميل يستر قبيحك

    غافر الذنب شاكر للشكور

    Revealing what is beautiful, He conceals your ugliness;

    Forgiver of sin, appreciative of the grateful.

  13. رب إن ظلمت نفسي كثيرا

    واعرتفت بكل اثم وزور

    Lord, if I have wronged myself greatly,

    And confessed every sin and falsehood,

  14. فاعف عني وتب علي متابا

    جالب النور شارحا للصدور

    Then pardon me and turn toward me in mercy,

    Bringing light and opening hearts.

  15. واختم العمر يا إلهي بخير

    حين تأذن بسيرنا للقبور

    And bring my life, O my God, to a good end,

    When You permit our journey to the graves.

  16. والصلاة مع السلام على من

    نوره قد طما على كل نور

    And blessings, together with peace, be upon him

    Whose light has surged above every light—

  17. أحمد المصطفى وآل وصحب

    دائمان على ممر الدهور

    Ahmad, the Chosen One, and his family and companions—

    Both enduring through the passage of the ages.

  18. ولك الحمد يا إلهي كثيرا

    عد نعماك في جميع العصور

    And to You be abundant praise, O my God,

    As numerous as Your blessings throughout all ages.
