الأعدم خلطتك بالناس

This is a time when nothing pleases

Except your avoiding people's company.

فخذ من الناس في جانب

فخذ من الناس في جانب

وكن لهم يا خليلي ناس

وكن لهم يا خليلي ناس

So keep apart from people,

And forget them, my dear friend.

ففي حديث النبي كونوا

ففي حديث النبي كونوا

لدوركم والبيوت أحلاس

لدوركم والبيوت أحلاس

For the Prophet's saying is: 'Be

Floor mats in your dwellings and houses.'

وقدورد وليسعك البيت

وقدورد وليسعك البيت

فكن به يا فتى جلاس

فكن به يا فتى جلاس

And it is reported: 'Let the house suffice you.'

So remain seated there, young man.

ولازم الذكر للخالق

ولازم الذكر للخالق

عسى يكن لك به ايناس

عسى يكن لك به ايناس

And persist in remembrance of the Creator;

Perhaps through it you will find solace.

فالذكر لله ما مثله

فالذكر لله ما مثله

تبعد به ابليس والخناس

تبعد به ابليس والخناس

For remembrance of God has no equal;

Through it you drive away Iblis and the slinking one.
