Beware your tongue, O human being.

Do not let it bite you, for it is a serpent.

How many lie in graves, slain by their own tongues,

Whom the brave once feared to face!

Rather, nothing casts people headlong into the depths of the Blaze

Except the tongue's harvests—is there anyone awake

To listen to what is conveyed to him and take heed,

    Before Satan leads him astray?

Whoever believes in God, let him say nothing

Except what pleases the Most Merciful.
