بالله يا طالب التقوى ونيل القبول

بالله يا طالب التقوى ونيل القبول

خذ لك من الناس في جانب وخل الفضول

خذ لك من الناس في جانب وخل الفضول

By God, O seeker of piety and of gaining acceptance,

O seeker of piety and attaining acceptance

Keep yourself apart from people, and leave idle concerns.

Take yourself away from people and leave gossip

ولازم الذكر والفكران أردت الوصول

ولازم الذكر والفكران أردت الوصول

ودم عليها فلا نال المعالي ملول

ودم عليها فلا نال المعالي ملول

And keep to remembrance and reflection if you desire attainment.

And adhere to remembrance and reflection if you want to attain

And persevere in them, for no easily wearied person has attained the heights,

And stay constant upon it, for the careless does not attain sublime heights

ولا الذي عن علوم الدين لاهي غفول

ولا الذي عن علوم الدين لاهي غفول

عليك بالعلم خذلك من علوم الأصول

عليك بالعلم خذلك من علوم الأصول

Nor one distracted and heedless of religious learning.

Nor the one who is heedless of the sciences of religion

Devote yourself to learning; acquire knowledge of the fundamentals.

busy yourself with knowledge, take from the principles of jurisprudence

وخذ من الفقه ما ترشد به يا جهول

وخذ من الفقه ما ترشد به يا جهول

واجعل علوم التصوف شرعها والنقول

واجعل علوم التصوف شرعها والنقول

And take from jurisprudence what guides you, O ignorant one.

And take from jurisprudence what guides you, O ignorant one

And make the sciences of Sufism, their sacred law and transmitted teachings,

And make the sciences of Sufism its legal basis and transmissions

فنك وشانك وكن بالعلم عامل فعول

فنك وشانك وكن بالعلم عامل فعول

لا تحسب العلم يا مغرور تحسن تقول

لا تحسب العلم يا مغرور تحسن تقول

Your craft and concern; be a doer who puts knowledge into practice.

So your self, your status, and be with knowledge an active doer

Do not think, O deluded one, that knowledge is merely speaking well.

Do not think, O arrogant one, that knowledge is good speech

وإن أردت السلامة من زمان الكلول

وإن أردت السلامة من زمان الكلول

فإنها في القناعة والرضا والخمول

فإنها في القناعة والرضا والخمول

And if you desire safety from an age of weariness,

And if you want safety from the time of disdain

For it lies in contentment, acceptance, and obscurity,

Then it is in contentment, acceptance, and stillness

وترك ما ليس يعني من فعال او مقول

وترك ما ليس يعني من فعال او مقول

فاصمت إذا شئت تلحق بالرجال الفحول

فاصمت إذا شئت تلحق بالرجال الفحول

And abandoning what does not concern you, whether done or said.

And leaving that which is meaningless in terms of deeds or speech

So be silent if you wish to join the foremost men.

So be silent if you want to catch up with men of merit

واقتد باهل المعارف والحجا والعقول

واقتد باهل المعارف والحجا والعقول

وجانب الناس بالمرة تنل كل سول

وجانب الناس بالمرة تنل كل سول

And emulate people of spiritual knowledge, discernment, and reason.

And follow the people of spiritual wisdom, argument, and intellects

And keep apart from people altogether; you will attain every wish.

And avoid people altogether to attain every facility

واقرأ القرآن الذي أنزل وقول الرسول

واقرأ القرآن الذي أنزل وقول الرسول

واحذر رواياك من دنيا قريبا تزول

واحذر رواياك من دنيا قريبا تزول

And recite the Quran that was revealed, and the Messenger's words.

And recite the Qur’an which was revealed and the words of the Messenger

And beware; guard yourself against a world that will soon pass away.

And beware in your narrations of a world that will soon vanish

فحبها للخطايا رأسها والرجول

فحبها للخطايا رأسها والرجول

محبها في الكدر والهم دائم يجول

محبها في الكدر والهم دائم يجول

For love of it is the head and feet of sins.

For love of it is the source of sins and lack of manliness

Its lover wanders forever in distress and worry.

Its lover is in agitation and worry, constantly wandering

وسوف يندم إذا حان السفر والقفول

وسوف يندم إذا حان السفر والقفول

ولا يفيد التندم فاستفق يا ضلول

ولا يفيد التندم فاستفق يا ضلول

And he will regret it when the time comes for the journey and return.

And he will regret when the journey and return arrives

And regret will be of no use; so wake up, O one gone astray.

And regret will not benefit, so wake up O lost one

وارجع إلى الله بالتوبة وصدق الدخول

وارجع إلى الله بالتوبة وصدق الدخول

في سيرة القوم من قبل القواطع تحول

في سيرة القوم من قبل القواطع تحول

And return to God in repentance, and sincerely enter

And return to God in repentance and truthful entry

Into the people's way of life, before obstacles intervene.

In the conduct of the people before the decisive transformations

خذها نصيحه وكن في الخير مسرع عجول

خذها نصيحه وكن في الخير مسرع عجول

ما أدرى ورا القلب ما يسمع لماله أقول

ما أدرى ورا القلب ما يسمع لماله أقول

Take it as advice, and be swift and eager in doing good.

Take it as advice and be quick in good, O energetic

I do not know why the heart will not listen to what I say to it.

I do not know what is behind the heart that I say

قاسي وناسى تقضي وقته في الذهول

قاسي وناسى تقضي وقته في الذهول

يا رب نسألك توبه صادقه والحلول

يا رب نسألك توبه صادقه والحلول

It is hard and forgetful; its time passes in heedlessness.

Cruel and forgetful, spending his time confused

O Lord, we ask You for sincere repentance and to dwell

O Lord, we ask You for a truthful repentance and entry

في جنة الخلد مع طه النبي والبتول

في جنة الخلد مع طه النبي والبتول

صلى وسلم عليه الله عد السيول

صلى وسلم عليه الله عد السيول

In the Garden of Eternity, with Ta-Ha the Prophet and al-Batul.

Into the eternal Garden with Taha the Prophet and the Virgin

May God bless him and grant him peace, as many times as there are torrents.
