Sol 6.1

  1. قلت الراحة في هذا الزمن

    إن بقى شيء يكن بطن الخمول

    Rest has grown scarce in this age.

    If any remains, it lies in the depths of obscurity.

  2. والمتاعب والمخاوف والحزن

    كلها بطن المظاهر والفضول

    And hardships, fears, and sorrow—

    All lie in the depths of outward show and meddling.

  3. إن ترد كل المواهب والمنن

    فاتبع سنة سيدنا الرسول

    If you desire all gifts and favors,

    Then follow the way of our master, the Messenger.

  4. واترك الناس ومل عنهم وعن

    كل ما هم فيه تظفر بالقبول

    And leave people, and turn away from them and from

    All that they are engaged in; you will gain acceptance.

  5. وبهيبقى لك الظن الحسن

    وبه تسلم من جهل الجهول

    And through it, you will retain a favorable opinion.

    And through it, you will be safe from the ignorance of the ignorant.

  6. وبه تحفظ من شر الفتن

    وبه تحرس من هول المهول

    And through it, you will be protected from the evil of tribulations.

    And through it, you will be guarded from the dread of what terrifies.

  7. واطلب العلم وخذ من كل فن

    منه ما استحسنه أهل العقول

    And seek knowledge, and take from every discipline

    What people of reason have deemed good in it.

  8. والعمل بالعلم مشروط لمن

    يبتغي القرب ويطلب للوصول

    And acting upon knowledge is a condition for whoever

    Seeks nearness and strives for attainment.

  9. والزم الذكر بسرك والعلن

    تحفظ الآن وفي حال القفول

    And hold fast to remembrance, in private and in public.

    You will be protected now and at the time of return.

  10. جالب للنور مذهب للدرن

    قائد للخير موصل كل سول

    It brings light and removes grime.

    It leads to goodness and fulfills every wish.

  11. يؤنسك في حين موتك والكفن

    وكذا في القبر فاذكر ياغفول

    It comforts you at the hour of your death and in the shroud,

    And likewise in the grave—so remember, O heedless one.
