بِأَبيwith my father as ransom الَّذيthe one who نَفسيmy soul عَلَيهِto him حَبيسُcaptive
بِأَبي الَّذي نَفسي عَلَيهِ حَبيسُ
ماليI have no سِواهother than him مِنamong الأَنامhumankind أَنيسُcompanion
مالي سِواه مِن الأَنام أَنيسُ
May my father be a ransom for the one to whom my soul is captive.
By the one to whom my soul is captive,
Among humankind, I have no companion but him.
None other than he is my companion,
لاdo not تُنكِرواdisapprove of أَبَداًever مقاربتيmy drawing near لَهُto him
لا تُنكِروا أَبَداً مقاربتي لَهُ
قَلبيmy heart حَديدiron وَهُوَand he مغناطيسa magnet
قَلبي حَديد وَهُوَ مغناطيس
Never disapprove of my drawing near to him.
Never deny my affinity for him,
My heart is iron, and he is a magnet.
