يَمضي لِنَقض الأَمر أَو تَوكيده
And he has a keen-edged sword in his palm,
And he has a sharp sword in his hand
Which goes forth to annul a decree or confirm it;
To undo the order or confirm it

يَجري بِحكمته لَدى تَسويدهِ
And an interpreter of what his heart conceals,
And a translator of what his conscience reaps
Flowing with his wisdom as he writes in ink:
He runs with his wisdom when setting it down

A pen that turns in his palm, as though it were
A pen turns in his hand as though
A celestial sphere revolving with its ill and good fortune.
A sphere turns with his fortune and happiness
