And the west has closed over the crescent, as though
The crescent has closed its eye as though
A lash-fringed eye were glancing out from it.
Watched by one whose lashes are poised.

فَضيض سِوارٍ أَو قَراضة دينار
As though what its horizon has left of it for us
What we have left of it is a horizon
Were a fragment of a bracelet, or a clipping from a dinar.
Like the glitter of a bracelet or a gold coin's edge.
