حتىuntil عطفتI turned aside بميمونيwith my maymūn (unclear here) وشملوليand my shamlūl (unclear term)
The roast goose enticed me with my “ta’lūl,”
The roasted almond enticed me with its sweetness
Until I turned aside with my “maymūn” and my “shamlūl.”
Until I inclined with my prosperity and wrap

مهماhowever تمرّit turns bitter بلاwithout مزجmixing وتحلوand it tastes sweet ليto me
It stirs the soul while lying still in the “pot-oon,”
It stirs the soul in settled gloom
However bitter it is unmixed, it tastes sweet to me.
No matter how it passes without blending and becomes sweet to me

Its female—her mate, the “male-oor,” mounted her,
Its femininity, its male partner adorned it
When he had her, like a woman and a “man-ool.”
When he obtained it, resembling a woman and a little man

And if she blackens him, the qūq-bird rises and whitens her,
And if it blackens, the peel whitens it
Whenever he quenches a thirst within her by letting liquid flow.
No matter how much thirst it quenched with its juice

And whenever she lies down upon her white eggs,
And above its whiteness no matter how much it wrinkled
She hatches them with my “lām,” without “mind-ool.”
I shell it without intellect

She pees in the water, yet it does not grow angry—how cold it is
It boils in the water yet does not get angry at what made it boil
In the cold, O people—so what is that? Speak!
In the cold, O people, so what is that, say
