حُبُّlove for خيرthe best of الرسلthe messengers مُذsince سكناit settled
حُبُّ خير الرسل مُذ سكنا
فيin فؤاديmy heart رحّلdrove away الوَسَناdrowsiness
في فؤادي رحّل الوَسَنا
Since love for the best of messengers settled
Love for the best of messengers has resided
In my heart, it drove drowsiness away.
In my heart, packing its bags
هلhas ...? رأىhe saw يوماًever; one day بروضتهin his garden
هل رأى يوماً بروضته
وأرىand I see قلبيmy heart رماcast away الحَزناsorrow
وأرى قلبي رما الحَزنا
Has he ever seen within his garden?
Has he ever seen in his meadow
And I see my heart has cast away sorrow.
While my heart is struck with sorrows
بحماكمin your sanctuary قدindeed سماrose قمرa moon
بحماكم قد سما قمر
ملأfilled الأكوانthe worlds منهfrom it سناradiance
ملأ الأكوان منه سنا
In your sanctuary a moon has risen,
With your protection, the moon has risen high
Filling the worlds with its radiance.
Filling the universe with its brilliance
أوضحmade clear الدينthe faith القويمupright إلىuntil
أوضح الدين القويم إلى
أنthat هدىguided مَنwhoever ضلّwent astray وافتتناand fell into temptation
أن هدى مَن ضلّ وافتتنا
He made the upright faith clear, until
Clarifying the true religion
He guided those who strayed and fell into temptation.
Until he guided those who were lost and tempted
رفعraised المولىthe Lord مكانتهhis rank
رفع المولى مكانته
وحَبَاهand bestowed upon him منهfrom Him كُلَّall مُنىwishes
وحَبَاه منه كُلَّ مُنى
The Lord raised his rank,
The Master raised his status
And granted him, from Himself, all he could wish for.
And granted him all that he wished
هوhe مَنthe one who عمّتextended to all شفاعتهhis intercession
هو مَن عمّت شفاعته
يومon the day يبدوbecomes apparent سِرّناour secret عَلَناopenly
يوم يبدو سِرّنا عَلَنا
He is the one whose intercession extends to all,
It is he whose intercession encompassed all
On the day our secret becomes public,
On the day our secrets become manifest
حينwhen نأتيwe come نسألwe ask الشُّفعاthe intercessors
حين نأتي نسأل الشُّفعا
وجميعand all الرسلthe messengers يدفعناturn us away
وجميع الرسل يدفعنا
When we come to petition the intercessors,
When we come to ask for intercession
And all the messengers turn us away.
And all the messengers drive us away
ويجيبand replies الكلeveryone لستI am not لهاfor it
ويجيب الكل لست لها
فيناديناthen calls to us الشفيعthe intercessor أناI
فينادينا الشفيع أنا
And each replies, "I am not the one for this,"
And everyone responds "it is not for you"
Then the intercessor calls to us, "I am the one!"
Our intercessor calls "it is for me"
جهرةaloud صلواinvoke blessings عليهupon him تَرَواyou will see
جهرة صلوا عليه تَرَوا
بالصلاةwith invoking blessings الفوزsuccess قدindeed قُرناhas been joined
بالصلاة الفوز قد قُرنا
Aloud, invoke blessings upon him, and you will see
Loudly, send blessings upon him to gain
That success has been bound to such prayer.
