يا نائماً يرجو الجنان

يا نائماً يرجو الجنان

أيقظ لمولاك الجَنَان

أيقظ لمولاك الجَنَان

O sleeper who hopes for the gardens of Paradise,

O you who sleeps hoping for Heaven

awaken your heart for your Lord.

Awaken for your Lord, the Bestower of Bounty

واستجلينّ بذكره

واستجلينّ بذكره

قلباً عليه الذنب ران

قلباً عليه الذنب ران

And be sure to polish, through remembrance of Him,

And illuminate with His remembrance

a heart encrusted with sin,

A heart laden with sins

لينور في ظُلَم الردى

لينور في ظُلَم الردى

وترى الهُدى فيه استبان

وترى الهُدى فيه استبان

so it may shine in the darkness of perdition,

So it shines amid the darkness of loss

and you may see guidance become clear within it.

And you see guidance manifest within it

كم ذا تميل مع الهوى

كم ذا تميل مع الهوى

جهلاً إلى دار الهوان

جهلاً إلى دار الهوان

How long will you be swayed by desire,

How much you incline in ignorance with desire

in ignorance, toward the abode of humiliation?

To the abode of disgrace

يا مُدبراً فيما مضى

يا مُدبراً فيما مضى

كُن مُقبلاً في ذا الأوان

كُن مُقبلاً في ذا الأوان

O you who turned away in the past,

O you who has turned away from the past

turn toward Him at this hour.

Be forward-facing in this moment

هذي أويقَات الرّضى

هذي أويقَات الرّضى

وافت فدَع عنك التوان

وافت فدَع عنك التوان

These brief moments of favor

These are the times of acceptance

have arrived; so cast aside your sloth.

So come, leave behind your hesitation

قُم في الدياجي ناجه

قُم في الدياجي ناجه

واسأل بقلب منك لان

واسأل بقلب منك لان

Rise in the darkness of night; commune with Him,

Rise in the dark of night and confide in Him

and ask with a heart of yours grown tender,

And ask with a tender heart from you

مُتذلّلاً في بابه

مُتذلّلاً في بابه

مستوهباً ما منك كان

مستوهباً ما منك كان

humbly submitting at His door,

Humbled at His door

begging pardon for what you have done,

Seeking what comes from you

متوسلاً بمحمد

متوسلاً بمحمد

فبجاهه تُعطى الامان

فبجاهه تُعطى الامان

seeking a way to Him through Muhammad;

Pleading through Muhammad

for through his standing you are granted safety.

For by his stature you are granted sanctuary

فهو الذي بجنابه

فهو الذي بجنابه

من لاذ حاشا أن يهان

من لاذ حاشا أن يهان

For he is the one at whose side

He by whose side

no one who takes refuge could ever be humiliated.

Whoever seeks refuge will not be disgraced

صلى عليه مُسلما

صلى عليه مُسلما

ربّي على طول الزمان

ربّي على طول الزمان

May blessings and peace be bestowed upon him

Bless him, O Muslim

by my Lord throughout all time.

My Lord, for all time
