Look at the cup, with the tawny wine flowing

into its mouth; mirth comes from that alone.

As though it were a goblet into whose mouth flows

wine, with mirth peculiar to it, measure for measure.

As though its jar were made of clay that had been fired,

and juice containing no pits was poured into it.

And after that, the cupbearer sat down and set it down,

and began pouring from it into the goblets—and wā.
