How has killing me, though innocent, become a duty—may you be safe?

And since it yearned for your fidelity, it has complained of no illness.

For union with you; and through you my heart has gone to you.

And their bounty is credited with every kindly deed.

O seeker of victory, if hopes bring you low and you stumble,

Then seek victory with a host of them marching in procession.

    And board their ship, relying upon sincerity;

You will find your path through the sea of love wondrous.

For how many ample favors of victory are theirs!

They are the illustrious, the spiritual poles, and the noble.

Breezes of intimacy brought them the fragrance of contentment,

And their rain streamed forth with succor and poured down,

As long as a cooing bird sings before dawn among the great trees,

Her trilling stirring a sorrowful soul to rapture.
