O Muslims—what a wonder,
O Muslims, a marvel
fashioned by the Maker!
created by the Creator!
عينيmy eye رأتsaw مأذنهa minaret
عيني رأت مأذنه
فيat رأسهاits top صاريa mast
في رأسها صاري
My eye beheld a minaret
My eye saw a minaret,
with a mast upon its head.
with a mast at its top.
صبيحةon the morning of العيدthe festival تبقىremain
صبيحة العيد تبقى
عندat الأسحارthe predawn hours
عند الأسحار
On the morning of the feast, it remains
On the morning of Eid, there still remain
in the hours before dawn;
in the hours before dawn,
فيهاin it القناديلthe lamps
فيها القناديل
موقوداتlit بالنارwith fire
موقودات بالنار
within it, the lamps
the lamps within it,
are kindled with fire.
