إِذاwhen سَكَنتُمyou are at rest فَقَلبيthen my heart دائِمُconstant in القَلَقِrestlessness
إِذا سَكَنتُم فَقَلبي دائِمُ القَلَقِ
وَإِنand if رَقَدتُمyou sleep فَطَرفيthen my eye دائِمُconstant in الأَرَقِsleeplessness
وَإِن رَقَدتُم فَطَرفي دائِمُ الأَرَقِ
When you are at rest, my heart is ever restless.
When you are still, my heart is ever restless
And if you sleep, my eye is ever sleepless.
And if you sleep, my eyes are ever sleepless
سَرَقتُI stole بِالنَّومِthrough sleep وَصلاًunion منfrom خَيالِكُمُyour phantom
سَرَقتُ بِالنَّومِ وَصلاً من خَيالِكُمُ
فَصارَso it became نَوميmy sleep مَقطوعاًcut off عَلَىfor السَّرَقِthe theft
فَصارَ نَومي مَقطوعاً عَلَى السَّرَقِ
In sleep, I stole union from your phantom.
I stole in sleep a meeting with your image
So my sleep was cut off for the theft.
So my sleep became broken by that theft
