May the bān tree of al-Jar‘ā’, in the valley of Tūḍaḥ, be watered—
He gave drink to Bana, the thirsty one, from the belly of Tuwaḍaḥ,
And people have varied ways of wishing water upon dwellings—
And people have ways of watering the abodes.

By a breeze like lavender’s breath; the tree is burnished
A gentle breeze like the polished breath of maidens
By the south wind; the clouds have kissed it.
Kissed by the winds of ostriches, kissed by the clouds.
