لاdo not تَعذُلِreproach القَلبَthe heart عَلىfor وَجدِهِits longing
لا تَعذُلِ القَلبَ عَلى وَجدِهِ
قَدindeed ضَلَّhas strayed عَنfrom مَنهَجِthe path سُلوانِهِits solace
قَد ضَلَّ عَن مَنهَجِ سُلوانِهِ
Do not reproach the heart for its longing.
Do not blame the heart for its passion
It has indeed strayed from the path to its solace.
It has strayed from its path of tranquility
لَمdid not أَرَI see رَبعاًa dwelling مِثلَهُlike it وافِياًfaithful
لَم أَرَ رَبعاً مِثلَهُ وافِياً
فارَقتُهُI left it فيin إِثرِthe wake of سُكّانِهِits inhabitants
فارَقتُهُ في إِثرِ سُكّانِهِ
I have seen no dwelling as faithful as this one.
I have not seen a quarter like it, so faithful
I left it in the wake of its inhabitants.
