ماno عَلىupon الواشينَthe tale-bearers مِنany حَرَجٍblame
ما عَلى الواشينَ مِن حَرَجٍ
مِثلُthe like of ماwhat بيis within me لَيسَis not يَنكَتِمُconcealed
مِثلُ ما بي لَيسَ يَنكَتِمُ
There is no blame upon the tale-bearers.
No blame is there on the lovers
A feeling like mine cannot be concealed.
If my love for them is not concealed
زَعَمواthey claimed أَنّيthat I أحِبُّكُمُI love you (plural)
زَعَموا أَنّي أحِبُّكُمُ
وَغَراميand my passion فَوقَbeyond ماwhat زَعَمواthey claimed
وَغَرامي فَوقَ ما زَعَموا
They claimed that I love you.
They claimed I was in love with them
And my passion exceeds what they claimed.
But my passion exceeded their claim
