وَقالوا قَد تَغَيَّرَتِ اللَّيالي

وَقالوا قَد تَغَيَّرَتِ اللَّيالي

وَضُيِّعَتِ المَنازِلُ وَالحُقوقُ

وَضُيِّعَتِ المَنازِلُ وَالحُقوقُ

And they said, 'The nights have indeed changed,

They said the nights have changed

and stations and rights have been squandered.'

The homes and rights are lost

وَأقسِمُ ما استَجَدَّ الدَّهرُ خَلقاً

وَأقسِمُ ما استَجَدَّ الدَّهرُ خَلقاً

وَما عُدوانُهُ إِلّا عَتيقُ

وَما عُدوانُهُ إِلّا عَتيقُ

And I swear that time has taken on no new nature;

I swear time has not created anything new

and its aggression is nothing but age-old.

Nor has its tyranny become less with age

أَلَيسَ يَرُدُّ عَن فَدَكٍ عَليٌّ

أَلَيسَ يَرُدُّ عَن فَدَكٍ عَليٌّ

وَيَملِكُ أَكثَرَ الدُّنيا عَتيقُ

وَيَملِكُ أَكثَرَ الدُّنيا عَتيقُ

Is not Ali turned away from Fadak,

Will not Ali defend Fadak

while Atiq possesses most of the world?

And will not the Ancient own most of the world
