For this abode is no lasting home for us,
For this abode is not our dwelling site
nor is anyone on earth beyond reach.
And man on earth is not a marvel bright
تنافسrivalry هذاthis one لهذاwith this one علىover
تنافس هذا لهذا على

This one's rivalry with that one is over
They vie and feud for petty words, no more
less than a concise utterance.
That summarise far less than they ignore
محيطcircumference السمواتthe heavens أولىmore fitting بناfor us
محيط السموات أولى بنا
فكمso how long ذاthis التخلفlingering behind فيin المركزthe center
فكم ذا التخلف في المركز
The circumference of the heavens is more fitting for us;
The sky's expanse deserves our hopes and dreams
so how long this lingering at the center?
Why lag behind and dwell on lesser schemes?

وما نحن إِلا خطوط وقع

And we are nothing but lines that have fallen
For we are but the footsteps that alight
upon points, with the fall of one poised to rise.
