كافي الكفاة بعيني مجمل النظر
You have bestowed a favor on me since you began to look upon me,
You blessed me since you started looking at me
O Kāfī al-Kufāt, with the eyes of one gracious in his regard.
Seeing me with your eyes is enough good fortune
كذاlikewise اليواقيتrubies فيماin what قيلwas said نشأتهاtheir origin
كذا اليواقيت فيما قيل نشأتها
منfrom حسنthe goodness of تأثيرthe influence of عينthe eye of الشمسthe sun فيupon القمرthe moon
من حسن تأثير عين الشمس في القمر
Likewise, rubies, it is said, owe their origin
Just as it's said precious stones originated
To the favorable influence of the sun’s eye upon the moon.
