    Infatuated with himself, enchanting

To others—he is beyond all fathoming.

His gaze roamed over his mirror,

So his own magic reflected back upon him.

The bathhouse brought him forth in an adornment

Of sweat, whose pearls came from him.

Passion lives through him—and Yahya is his name.

So let no one ask me who he is.

I said to the full moon, putting it to the test:

Be like him, O full moon, or be him.
